HOUSING SCHEME
Tenders Let for Erection of 24 in Hastings AKINA STREET BLOCK Tenders for the erection of 24 housee in Hastings have been accepted by the Governgent Housing Department aecording to advice received this morning frem Mr E. L. Cullen, M.P., who is at present in Wellington. Mr Cullen intimated that the Member in charge of the Government Housing Scheme had advised him that tenders for 12 houses had been awarded to Mr H. W. Abbott, 10 houses to Mr E. P. Williams, and two houses to Mr P. J. Bridgeman. The houses are to be constructed on the block of land purchased by the Government recently in Akina street. Thrs block of houses will be on tho nor them Side of the road. All the houses, it is understood, are to be of different designs.
