ANSWER TO CORRESPONDENT
"F.W.," Avenue road, Hastings, writes to ask — (1) The total winning of the progeny oi LOrd Quex up to the end of the just-concluded Tacing season. — The Lemberg horse has been representd by winners in New Zealand for the last eleven years, during which timo the total stakes won by his gbts aggregated only a few pounds below £90,000, so taking into account his Australian winniugs as well, his stock have won over £100,0000. Paper Money is the only living sire in New Zealand to-day with a greater amount to his credit. (2) The la3t race in which Nadador competed and won. — The late Sir William Russell's 'chaser, after winning the Grand National SteepL'diase, was bicught back to Has'Ings to be turned out for her annuai ppell, and only a few months after that victory suffered from inflammation of the bowels and diod. Thus she won the last race she competed in and her Wellington Steeplechase win was actually two yeaTS prior to that. (3) As these are no reeords in the Turf Register of tho Woodthorpe and Petane non-totalisator race meetings, the iuformation desired cannot be immediately supplied, but an endeavnur will be mad© to furnish it. — "The Barbs.'
