No excuse can possibly be made for Gold Kod. Jle is in perfect order to-day, and was probably disinclined to race in the field. Prittlo Prattle, on account of his seeond in tlie Tramway Handicap, has come right into Epsom calculations. The Chanter, who finislied well in the Chelmsford Stakes. is also more in demaud. Talking is being kept safe by bookmakors ' uiitil he runs at Rosehill next Saturday. Ilis trainer, G. Price, sait'l that Gold Rod-'s lapso of form was disappointing, but that be had dono it before.
