A Parisian novelty that has found ' Its way to this country is the necklace of white pique flowers, which is excellent for brightening *a dark dress. The "ingredifnts" are about a quarter Df a yard of white pique, a small piece of soft red leather or suede, a yard of narrow white fancy braid, five small red beads, and a necklace fastener. For the largest flower in the centre cut a round of the pique two and threequarter inches across. Rounds two and a-half inches across are needed for the flowers on either side, and rounds two inches across for the smallest flowers. Fold each circle in halves, then in three, and cut as shown in the diagram. Make the centre from the red leather. Place a red centre in the middle of each ivhite flowerj join with red thread sewn through a small red bead, cari-y the thread through the braid foundation and stitch firmly. A pretty idea is to make a bracelet to match the necklace. Pretty Tables. Tables need to be more attractive than »ver in summer, when the eye must be pleased if the appetite is to be stimulated n warm weather. Flowery chintz mats vith pale green' or parchment grounds ind a backing of linen have a cool and rummery appearance. "Shadow" emjroidery, with white organdie for the illing of cut- out designs, is shown in ine linen tahle-cloths in ice-blue or jalest green.
