Elimination Contests in "Dominion / : # * CHALLENGE GUARANTEED

f WELLINGTON, Last Night. • A New Zealand tournament to find a challenger for the world wrestling title at present held by Bronko Nagurski will open on Septepiber 27, the contestants including all wrestlers at present campaigning here under the Dominion Wrestling Union as well as others likely to come from overseas. One suck wrestler is Francis Fouche, now on the water en route from tho United States. At the beginning of the season the Dominion Wrestling Union entered into a contract with the then holder of the title, Dean D'etton, to engage in a series of matches in New Zealand. The amount involved was stated to be the largest guarantee ever made any spoxtsman to visit the Southern H^misphere. Late in June, however, Detton lost the championshi'p to Nagurski, to whom a similar contract to' that made with Detton was offered. Hopes were entertained that tho new champion would make the ' trip. south, but cable advice to the union now states that the pressure of home en'gagements renders this impossible. • The well-known- American wrestling promoter J. ("Toots") Jlondt, who holds Nagurski 's contract, has oabled to the union the - suggestion that, since Nagurski is unaLlo to defend his championship hcre in New Zealand, an elimination tournament be held, the winner •I which will be guaranteed an ' iininciatc match with the title-holder- - -
