Transport To Work
JOHN
ANDERSON.
Sir,— On behalf of the men engaged for the Te Mata Peak job I wish to reply to your artiele appearing in yesterday 's edition of your paper under the heading "Transport Wanted.'' Mr Logan puts forward a suggestion that we find it more attractive to sit down than look for work or take it when it is offered. Perhaps Mr Logan is not aware of the fact that the majority of the men attended tbe bureau daily'from September 3 to September 11 for the purpose of trying to come to some arrangement with those coneerned regarding transport. The job is covered by an award and it is not for us to go against it. .tf Mr Logan would like to set us au example of Empire-building by walking out there and doing a decent day's work as well for a week we will take pleasure out oi doing the same. There' is not one man refused to wtrk there and we are all anxious to get something more than sustenance. — Yours, etc..
