N.Z. Could Develop Markets In Australia TRADE RECIPROCITY ADV0CAT3ZD

"WELLINGTON, Last Night. New Zealand primary products ars not sufficiently advertised in Australia, said Mr. H. P. Brooks, a Sydney stockbroker who arrived in Wellington to-day by the Awatea. "There is ample scopa for marketing a* great deal more of New Zealand 's products in Australia but it is primarily a matter of salesmanship and advertising, ' ' Mr. Brooks said. Por instance, many Australians wero anxious to purchase New Zealand houey but often it meant making the round of shops in search of the ohly one at which it was obtainable. That sort of thing was clearly due to insufficient publicity. Tariffs of course wero an obstacle to increased trade between the Commonwealth and the Dominion and it was generally felt that greater trade reciprocity would be of mutual benefit. In business and finaneial circles keen interest was being tafien in New Zealand political developments, said Mr. Brooks, and Hon. W. Nash's Budget was being awaited with eagerness. Australia herself was nearing a general election and the recent iudustrial disturbances had had the effeet of impressing tho electors with the lack of harmony that existed between capital and labour. A pleasing note was that in the Commonwealth industry was proeeeding on sound lines. Outputs were increased and prices were maintained. With the exception of Queensland all tho States had balanced budgets, but (Queensland had budgeted for a deflcit.
