A picturesque international divorce case was revealed to-day in the filing of eross suits by the Baron and Baroness Berlingiere. Tlie Baroness is a noted Amorican hejress, and formeriy was Miss Merry Eahrney. He is an Itaiian nobleman, The Baron asked the courfc lor the aniiulpient of the marriage, damages amounting to 130,000 dollars, and atfcprney's tees totalling 10,000 dollars. The Baron said that he' was a member of one of Italy's finest faiuilies, and had idealg, and a deep reapect and regard for women. "I am a gentleman of culture, and of a highly-s'ensitive disposition and refined taste," l>e said. The Baron alleged that the Baroness had* sought notoriety with little or no regard for the feeliugs q£ others. He said that his money had disappeared in supporting her since their marriage. She possessed three mdlion dollars. l'he attorney for the Baroness claimed that tlie Baron's inability to speak English and her inability to speak Itaiian had produeed trouble. The attorney added: "She wants to settle down now."
