Number of Cases on Increase 0NTARI0 AND CHICAG0 TORONTO, Sept. 11. Twelve new cases of infantilo paralysis have brought the number since June to 446, includiug 24 deatlis. The total for the province is 1384. The opening of 43 schools has been postponed until September 20. The houra will be lengthened to avoid euttipg the curriculum or holidays. A Qhicago message says that with paralysis cases still increasing at the rate of 12 daily, including 18 deaths since August 1, the total number of cases is now 228. Ghicago oontinues to be the greatest sufferer in the nation. The echools are not expected to open before October 1. The Department of Education is undertaking the unusual experimont of conducting daily lessons by wireless for 450,000 pupils. Thus they are not expected to lose time when the school resumes.
