Salvation Army Evening There was a splendid attendance at tbe Salvation Army young people' s hall on the occasion of . the annual . "sunbeam" coneert, These little people are very entcrtaining in their various items, including songs, drills, dialogues, recitations, "etc. The dialogue, ' 'Six Little Motherg " was very amusing, and a Maori vgcal duet by llaphne and Marjori,e Orbell wag very well rendered, The young women'g branch of tho Young People' g Legipn provided a round of team games, whieb were well played and evidenced much self-control. Assistance was given to the programme by Misses Pauline and Fonda Lahpod in cha.rming eloeutionary items. A character sketch, by little Mary Buckingbam, was a deliglit, and Brian Hasler delightcd all i with his vocal solo and character sketch. Naida Cameron was heard in a pleasing monologue, and Miss Johus gave a delightful Teeitation. Miss Valerie McCoombe also provided two delightful eloeutionary items. On behalf of the Sunbeam leader Miss L. Wilson, Major Marsh&U thanked thgse wbo had assisted with the programme. Mgntion was also xnade of Mrs C. Neilson, who, for ab mgst six years, had heen Suxxbeam Leader, but had relinguisbed this position in favour of Miss Wilson just a feW xnoxxths ago, She had worked hard for tlre brigade, and many young people tiow beyond tlie ago, could tes» tify to the pleasurablo aud proiitable period spexit with Mrs Neilson. The brigade, under Mrs L. Wilson t as leader, ^Ylrs W, Stewart, as assistaut leader, Aliss lt. De Manse and Miss Al. Negus as instructors, is doing remax'kably well. The girls who come under ^oir^ eare aro very fortunate indeed. The Sunbeam s wero given their an* niversary tea on Saturday. Tho cake was eub by Mrs Neilson, who was present by invitation. The girls did justiee to the good- things provided, and after tea gaxnes were indulged in and all went home very happy and bright.
