It's a queer thing but men there are und many of us have aiet them, who can't for tho life of them get a really good comfortable smoke out of a pipe. A few whifi's and oue it goes, 'every time. Such smokers (Ex-Iving Edward by the way, is said to be oue of them), usualiy give the pipe rest and take to cigarettes. But while there are millions of eigarette smokers, millions of others rnust have their pipe. Cigarettes are no use to them. As for tobaceo, the favoui'ite eigarette brands, as everybody knovvs, are Riverhead Gold and Desert Gold, both unapproached for flavour and fragrance, while for pipe smokers there arc no blends so much in reqeust as Cut Plug No. 10 (Bullshead), Cavendish, and Navy Cut No. 3 (Bulldog). All these tobaecos are loasted. I-Ience their exlraordinary purity and comparative harmlcssness. •Toasting ejiminates excess of nicotine in them. And smokers soon discover that a pipe charged with any of the pipe blends nained will "keep-in," for "toasted" burns away to tho last , shrofl.*
