WELLINGTON, Last Night. The House of Representatives met this afternoon when Mr H. 8. S. Kyle (is'at., Riccarton) gave notice to~ask if the Government would bring down logislation to relieve ratepayers who were unableto pay their rates- on the due date and Wero saddled with tho added 10 per ceut ponui ty. — Mr 0. II. iiuniett (Govt., Tauranga) asked the Minister of Finance whctlicr. in order further to cncourage dairy1'aniiors, aud iu fact i'armers generully, to build houses for married farm workers, he would cousider a mortgage plan that wouid give the State priority at iow rate of interest over extended perlods of time after giving a first mortgugce (if any) an option to borrow the inoney ou the saino terms. Mr W. J. PoJson (Nat., Stratford) tlien asked if the Minister of Finance would lay on the table of the House the report of the speciai committee which advised the Government on tho guaranteed priees for dairy produce. Leave of absenco was granted the following members: Messrs P. Neilson seven days on account of illness, H, T Ratana seven days on account of illness, C. A. Wilkinson two days on account of urgent jjublic business, T. Ilcnare eight days 011 account of ill*ness, W. J. Broadfoot four days on ac.count of urgent public business,-
