-Presa Association.)

Yesterday's Stock Sale At Feilding

(By Telegraplx-

PALMERSTON N., This Day. The fat cattle market at the Feilding livestock sale yesterday boomed, runbeef commanding over £2 per lOOlbs. while ex dairy beef made up to 35s per lOOlbs. There was a heavy yarding but this did not prevent values rising. On the ( contrary there was particularly keen competition for all sorts, due to the definite shortage of beef cattle. The rapid development of the chilled beef trade has been responsible for almoat a total clearance of yonng fat ! cattle and the situation is gradually teaching an acute stage. The shipping eompanies have been able to meiH; the demands of exporters and most of the expqrting houses are now out of chilled beef and buyers are busy endeavouring to buy up to fulfill orders. Prices advanced on late rates with a total clearance under the hammer. ? 1 The fat sheep section found ewe mutton a shade easier. Nevertheless all good lines realised £2 a head and slightly over. Hogget nxutton was firm while wother rnmtton was represented by only two pens. Store hoggets were yarded in small numbers and found a ready sale on a firming. market. Despite the con'sistently large yardings of fat sheep for the past several weeks good entries continue to come forward and yesterday 's offering of 1000 found, the market fully iirm at late rates with perhaps a slight easing in the values for owe mutton. The yarding yesterday was made up of 260 hoggets, approxihaately 700 ewes and only some 30 odd wethers. Quality in the case of the hoggets was generally medium, wethers f'air to medium and ewes , medium to good,
