SEA DRAMA ON THEME OF GIRL PAT
A situation broadly based on the adventurous voyage of the Grimsby trawler Girl Pat provides the theme of "The Guaher, " Ivan Hay's new mystery drama, which opened a season recently in London. "The Gusher" has a cast of 70 and • its 17 scenes include a prison kitchen in England, a. coroner's court in East London, thc trawler, an East End bar tmd dance-liali. the deck of a luxur.v liner, a "shady" establishment in Panama City, and an island in the Pacific. Sliding stages were used by the producer, Mr. Herbert Bryan^ to attain speed of action; and each scene was announccd through a luierophone to savo the audience Ihe nceessity of striking niatches to examine tlieir programmes.
