THE CENSOR OBJECTS

The British fllm cenlsor seems to havo heen a little iconcemed ,jover ^'Tha 'Court Waltzes," the French film produced by Gunther Stapenhorst, and directed by Ludwig Berger, according to a British writer. The film is a fantasy about two rival composers) Josef Lanner and Johann Strauss, and how both find themselves continuing theix quarrel in London when Queen Victoria imports musicians to teach the court the waltz. A few small cijts were made. It was coneidered undignified, for instance, that we should see the Queen kissing Prince Albert and immediately announcing her engagement. . It is understood that objection was also taken to a farcical court scene where English judges, in the round caps worn by tho French judiciary, join in the singing of a waltz attributed to both composere. Eventually it was passed.
