A German firm has evolved a new method of helping musicians in their study. It is making gramophone records of orchestral music, and in each record the part of one instrument has heen left out, so that the student may himself supply the missing music. A sheet is sold with the record, giving the missing music. So far, 100 different records have been macje. Of these, the mhjority ( lack the IfTSt violin part, but others have heen made for use withi the second violin, viola, "1cello and piano. The records have heen made by the Yienna Chamber Music" ^rchestra, and include works by Bach, Handel, Hadyn, Mozart, Beethoven and Scbubert.
