Maori Boy Rescues Three Young Children CANOE CAPSIZES ON LAKE

ROTORUA, Last Night. Three Maori children, Wi Uuna, Make Kingi and Tuku Hunu, all aged six, were rescued from drowning this morning by an older companion, Peli Hunu, aged 13, .when a small boat in which they were crossing Lake Rotoiti on Ihe' way to school suddeuiy sank. Showing the greatest tenacity and rcsource, Peti kept the three youuger children, who were all unable to swim, alloat until two canoes were paddled to their assistance. The boat was well out on the lake and in very deep water when .the accident occurred. None of the four were much'worse for the experience, although all were suifering from shock,
