TE KUITI, Last Night. "Mrs. McGrath mqde an error of judgment in not- calling in a doctor," said the District Coroner, Mr. R. M. Somerville, after hearing the evidence concerning the death of Isabella Rose Liddell, known as Doljly'1 jLiddeii', a eingle woman, aged 2'2, at Mrs. Dairy Margaret McGrath 's home last Saturday morning. The finding was that deceased died from pneumonia, wbicb followed a septic tbroat and broncbitis, on Saturday last. Tbe doctor was calleed at 4 a.m. and found tbat deceased bad died about ten ininutes before from beart failuro, following on pneumonia. A neigbbour, Mrs. Carlyon, a doctor 'b widow^ witb 40 years' nursing experience, said tbat wben sbe saw deceased on Thursday prior to ber death, sbe knew sbe was a dying girl. Sbe remonstrated witb Mrs. McGrath, saying: "Dolly is in a terrible 'state, and I would not bave tbe responsibility for ten minutes without medical aid." However, Mrs. McGrath said Dolly was then getting better. Mrs. McGrath, in evidenco, said tbe girl had quinsy, which broke on August 26. After tbat she was much easier and seemed slowly getting stronger and began to eat better. Sbe ate mash and vegetables tbe nigbt before ber death, and during the nigbt took barley water. Asked by Constable Fraser why/ sbe dld not call a doctor after Mrs. Carlyon 's warning, sbe said sbe wanted to do it, but deceased said sbe was arll rigbt.
