Meeting Of Hastings Committee

A meeting of the Hastings committee of the Hawke's Bay War ltelief Assoeiation was held on Tuesday. Present, Messrs F. J. Hull (in the chair), L. J. Mackersey and P. J.,Priest. Leave of absence was granted to Mesgrs W. Hart and F. Perrin. Twenty-eight returned soldiers' cases were eonsidered and assistance was granted in various ways, including giants amounting to £49 17/6. A statement of payments and rcceipts for the month of August showing grants to soldiers £109 15/3, grants to dependants of soldiers £9 5/-, grants on aecount of other societies £17 8/6, loans to soldiers £21 8/-, and repayments received £73 12/9, was placed before the meeting and approved.
