MR WALTER JOHN PALLOT
The death occurred suddenly in Wellington yesterday of Mr Waller John Ballot, who has been clerk to the Hawke's Bay Rivers Board ever siricc the incBption of that body. The late Mr W. J. Paliot was tlie youngest son of the late Mr Alfred Fallot, ac&ountant and aUditor, He was born in Napier and educated at the Napier District School and Napier Higli School. Ih leaviug school he enterethe service of an accountant and auditor and comparatively soon obtailled ms degfee as ah Associate of tho New Zealand InstitUte of AccoUntants. On the fOfftlation of the Hawke's Bay Rivers Board lie Was appointed clerk, a positiott Which he has filled With distiiict suCCess, and it was Oii the Boarcl 's business, in eonjurictiOTi With the efcair man, Mr C. Lassen, that he Was ii. Wellington at the time oi his death. The late Mr Paliot Was a man o„ wide knowledge on many subjects, but of an texCeedingly quiet and retiriu^ disposition.
