NEW ZEALAND CUP
Big: Entry List With. 55 horses in the list the Canterbury Jockey Club has received three more nominations for the New Zealand Cup than was the case last year. Riccarton claims 14 candidates, while there are 13 from other parts of the South Island and '28 from the North Island. Out of last year's entry 18 are in the race again, among them being four horses that competed. They ; are Ferson, the yvinner, Werohia, who Was second and Argentie and Might, two of the unplaced lot. Fersen is not the only previous winner engagwl as Cuddle is another that is made eligible to scoTe a second succees in a race Which has never yet been won twice by any horsfe.- Cottingham is the vetetan of the list, tho Grand National Hurdles winner being nind yearS ald. Five. and six-year-olds are the triCKst strongly represented, there being 16 of the last age, while seven and eight-year-olds claim eight( with four-year-olds numbering six.
