SEVERAL GIFT PARTIES FOR MISS PAT TEMPLE
A ' jolly dance was held in the Eriendly Society 's Hall, Hastings, last evOning, in honour of Miss Pat Teinple, whoso marriage to Mr. Alec. Taylor takes place shortly. The hostesses for .the evening were Mrs. Frazer, an aunt of the bridegroom, who wore a gown of black needlerun lace with a coatee to mateh and pink spray at the neck, and Mrs. Taylor, whose gown of black matelasse was patterned in shades of pink. Among tho guests were Mrs. McCallum, sister of the bride-to-be, whose frock was of floral chiffon. Mrs. Taylor, the mother of the bridegroom-to-be, wore a model frock in black and white. After supper tho guest of the evening opened her many parcls, and Mr. Alex. Taylor replied on her behalf. During . the evening itpms were given by Mrs. McCallum (song), Miss Harper (eloeution), Miss S. Dean (song) and Mr. Robertson (eloeution). Others present included Mr. and Mrs. . Rogers, Mr. and Mrs, McCue, Mr. and Mrs. Storer, Mr. and Mrs. Richards, Mr. and Mrs. Walker, Mr. and Mrs.' Edwards, Mr. and Mrs. Guthrie, Mr. and Mrs. Martin, Mr. and Mrs, Priest, Mr. .and Mrs. McKay," Mr. and Mrs. Wtuart, Mr. and Mrsl Atkins, Mr. and Mrs. McMillan, Mr. and Mrs. Massey, Mr. and Mrs". Buchanan, Mr. and Mrs. Paterson, Mr. and Mrs. Bott, Misses Sutherland, Rose, H. and J. Gibb, I. Edwards, E. and N. Walker, E. McKay, S. Dean, B. Harper, Messrs. J. Walker, J.- Baird, N. D. K. McKay, Buchan, Mathers, Devaers, Beattie, and many others. Miss Temple was also the guest of honour at a very jolly party at Raukawa when the. hostesses for the evening wero Mrs. and Miss Edwards, the latter being ono of tho bridesmaids, Dancing aild games passed tlie evening all too quickly. At nudnight supper was served and afterwards Miss Temple opened her many gifts and Mr. Alec Taylor suitably replied. A card party v.as glven by Mrs. G. and Mrs. L. Atkins and Migs C. Sutherland, the latter being oue of the brides-. uiaids, aud a very jolly evening wuS spent. Mrs. Walker and Mrs. Illeks were hostesses at a bathroom afternoon for Miss . Temple, games and ' competitions were the feature of the afternoon. After a dainty tea had been served, Miss Temple opened her gifts and later thaniccd evcryon- present.
