British Figures Show Decrease
(Lteceived 8, 8.45 a.m.) R0GBY, Sept. 7. (Jnemployment was down again last month. The Ministry of Labour estiinates that at August 23, the number of insured persons in employment in Britaiu, exclusive of persons withiu * agricultural scheme, was apfk ci^'ately 11,562.000. This was 45 000 more than the month before and 400,000 more than the year before. At tbe same dato the numbcrg registered as unemployed wero '1,358,621 comprising 1,088,885 wholly unemployed, 205,371 temporarily laid off, and 64 365 normally in casual employment. This was 20,858 less than at July 26 and 255,319 less tban at August 24, 1936. !
