Declarations have been received fronx tlie Governments of Cuba, Haiti, j Ilungary, the Netherlands and Poi and notifying their inteution to ratify the internatjonal sugar agreement which was sigucd iu London on May 6 as soon as the necessary forinalities have been fulfilied, TJnder article 4 of the protocol annexed to the agreemeiit, these declarations ara provisionally acceptablo, and are equivalent to ratification for the purposes of bringing the agreement into force. It is understood that a number of other Governments will shortlv deposit their ratification, or make declarations, Ansfralia, Czechoslovakia Germany, Peru, Portugal, and the ITnited Kingdom have ' alrcady ratified tlie agreement.
