JAPANESE BLOCKADE IN FULL OPERATION
China Appealing to League (Received 7, 8.45 a.m.) SHANGHAI, Sept, 6, A Hongkong message says that a Japanese destroyer shelled Shekwan. Another seized the Chinese Customs cruisers Kwanwei and Hsukuan and, put ashore the crews. The British steamer Taishan, bound for Canton, returned to Hongkong, the captain being disinclined to continue the voyage. The foregoing incidents suggest that the new Japanese hlockade is in full operation. Admiral Hasegawa undertook that there would be no inter^ ference with peaceful commerce, but reserved the right to hail all merchantmen, Nanking announces that China is appealing to the League of Nations against the Japanese aggression,
