. . Railwaymen's Attitude A decision to refuse to handle "any article or commodity consigned to Japan until such. time as Imperialist Japan withdraws from the present conflict was made by the Otahuhu branch of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants of New Zealand at a meeting last week. The meeting also called upon all workers to join them and so assist in bringing about a speedy end to the blood bath tlireatening both the Chinese and Japanese workers. The resolution adopted by tlie meeting stated tliat the action proposed was taken "owing to the most brutal and malicious metliod of attack on the Chinese people by the Fascist State of Japan purposely, as we view tlie situation, with the object of beating back tlie ever-increasing and i'ast-growing working-class movement for emancipation and true democracy of the people as against Imperialism, capitalism and Fascism,'' Tlie vicv was expressed that thfr unwarranted and unjustified bombings of civilians in China were some of the most brutal outrages ever peipetrated upon mankind.
