Pleasant Diversion Before Big Match

CHRISTCHURCH. This Day. Members of the Sprin§bob team were the guests of tlie Brighton Trotting Club at its race meeting this morning and for the first time in their lives (they saw trolting races with a carefree outlook. They abandoned themselves for the time being to the full enjoyment of the sport Of trotting, making their investments on the iotalisator with as much enthusiasnl as a keen New Zealand race-goer, and while the races wero beftig run giving expression to their emotions. When asked if they had formed any partieular impressions of trotting races several of the Springboks eaid it was great fun and they were enjoying it iinmensely. All the members of the team were present. They arrived at the boiifse jiist after the first race, and remained to see the third race, the priacipal event of the day> and some at lea&t would have liked to have stayed a little longier. As G. H. Brand, fullback, expressed it, they had never befor% in their travels had an opportunity of such a pfeasant diversion before a big matc£. and while their ideas of trotting may be a bit confused they at least enjoyed themselves thofoughly.
