WAKB IJF AND LIVE.' * Nine new song hits by Gordon and Eevel, ace Hoilywood songwriters who have written many of the nation 's leading musical successes, featura "Wake Up and Live," the Twentieth Gentury-Eox production featuring Walter Winchell, Ben Bernie and Alice Faye, which screens to-night at the State Theatre. Two of the numbers, "Wake Up and Live" and " There 'a a Lull in My Life," are sung by Alice Eaye, of whom Winchell reported in his column: "Some critics have announced that Alice Faye gave her linest performance in 'On the Avenue' — but they will say that, we believe, with ] more superlatives, after they en-joy her in this picture." Sidney Lanliohi directed "Wake Up and Live," in which ■ appear, in addition to the trio of stars, Patsy Kelly, Ned Sparks, Jack Haley, Grace Bradley, Walter Catlett, Leab Kay, Joan Davis, Douglas Fowley and Miles Mander. Les Henry 's orckestra will play in the foyer prior to the commeneemenfc of tonight 'b session.
