HAMILTON, Last Night. "Due to the recent legislation and new awards, the salary and wages bill of the Hamilton Borough Council has already risen £4315 a year," said Mr. H. D. Caro, deputy-Mayor, at a council meeting last evening in prcdicting a further increase in the rates next year. He added that, if the engineer's staff obtained a 40-kour week and equivalent pay, the increase would be £5728, or 15 per cent.
