STAY-IN STRIKE
Mill-Workers Adopt Curious Tactics (Received 3, 8.45 a.m.y MELBOTJRNE, Sept 2. A novel stay-in strike is in progress at the Foderal timber mill at Bowentown. Thirty men are involvo.l. The men asked to be able to work carly on Saturdays in order that they might walk 17 miles to town in timo to see a football match. The management agteed but then found that oue Saturday a workman had advanced Ihe clock seven minutes, so the arrangement was cancelled. The men promptly went on a sfcay-in strike. They leave the works every Saturday morning, remain in town for the weekend and return to stay-in each Monday. This has been going on for seven weeks.
