DEAD EXPLORER'S DIARY
Found Near North Pole TEOMSOE, Sept. 1. The diary of the Swedish explorer Andree, who was lost while ballooiling to the Pole in 1897, was found on the small island of Lochhinlop in the Straits of Spitzbergen. It was enelosed in a copper and cork globe. The explorer 's handwriting was in j good condition and it is believed that the book was thrown out when he was passing over the region. The diary de.scribes only part of the flight and his ultimate fate is still a mystery.
