As the oceasion was a special coronation ball a large crbwn formed of tiny lights was suspended from. the ceiling. Eound the walls at inlervals were fern fronds and high up a wide blue streamer was covered with orangi} and lemon scalloped streamers with a pah: of balloone in these shades in each scallop. , The stage looked particularly beautiful with a background of tall kentia palms and along the.back "Auld Lang Syne" was written. Palms . were arTanged at , each side of the stage and the front was banked with tiers of lovely pot plants. The higher tier was composed of cinararias in every hue, deepest purples, wines, pinks, whites, mauves and shaded varieties, wliile in the lower tier were many shaded cyclamen and 'small f erns.
