Tn'all, 16 applications. were ma.de-from -,tlie district, but. after rnedical -.examinations and a . preliminary examination,: this number was narrowed down to the 10/sent forward. From all over the Dominion, 22 sea.men boys, between the ages of 15 years three nionths and 16 years three months are to be entered in October. Applications forwarded from the, various districts will be ' considered at. Auckland, and a selected number called up for interview and final examination, from whom the successful candidates will be selected. The Hawkes Bay' applications number eight f rom JNapiei*, oue from Masterton, land one from Martinborough.
