Horton Scholarship, open to boys under 13 years of age on 1st January 1938. This Scholarship provides a fi'ee education as a boarder. (b) Three Entrance Seholarships of £45 per annum open to boys under 13 years of age on 1st Jan., 1938. (c) One Entrance Scholarship of £45 per annum open to boys under 14 years of age on 1st Jan., 1938. (d) One Entrance Scholarship of £45 per annum opdn to boys attending a Preparatory School who will be under 13 years of age on 1st October, 1937. Applications close 30th September, 1937. N.Z. military forces TERRITORIAL FORCE — SPEOIAL RESERYE. mHE FIRST DRAFT of recruits for the above will be enlisted as follows:— Auckland — Artillery 50. W ellington — Artillery 50, Infantry 30. Christchurch — Infantry 40. Applications for engagement must fulfil the following conditions: — Be British subjeets— physically fit and of required medical standard, ttot less than 5ft. 7in. in height— have attained their 18th but not exceeded their 25th birthday on lst September, 1937. E'e prepared to undergo three months' continuous training and for three years thereafter to undertake to attend a course of . training of ten consecutive days per annum with the unit to which they will be posted. RATES OF PAY: (a) During the three months' course 8/- per day less 2/6 per day deduction for quarters and rations supplied. (b) During the annual courses of instruction 9/- per day — rations and quarters provided, VOOATIONAL TRAINING. While attending the three months' course of instruction, facilities will be provided, free of eharge, for training in a selected trade. On completion of (a) above, applications from those who desire to enlist for service in the Regular Forces will be considered for appointment. Every effort will also be niade to obtain employment for those who are not engaged with the Regular Forces. Further details wili be supplied on appiieation at any Defence Ofliee. Applications for engagement Will be accepted by Defence Offices up to and including 7th September, 1937; those selected must be prepared to commence on 21st September the three months' course at one of the prescribed training establishments. A 'copy oi the plan and speciflcation may be seen at the Borough Engineer's Office, Faraday Street, Napier, and at the office of the Housing Oonstruction Dept. Dominion Fanners' Institute, Wellington. TO BUILDERS. HTENDERS are invited for the Purchase and Removal of building comprising nine shops constructed with timber and corrugated iron situated in Railway Road, Hastings, at the rear of the Hastings Hotel.
