HOMING-PIGEON RACING
From Picton and Petone To Waipukurau The Waipukurau Homing Pigcon Club flew its final two yearling races on Saturday, from Petone and Picton. For the Picton xace, an airline distance of 160 miles, only two teams were sent. The stationmaster liberated at 9 a.m. in overcast .weather. The winning team, owned by Mr Spencer, gave a good performance, tho three birds being clockcd in within 18 seconds. Eesults. — Mr T. Spencer's tenm, B.C.C. WPK 147, 3hrs. 59miir; B.C.H. WPK 94, 6hrs, 18min. (5Ers. 16min.) 2 THE PETONE EACE. For the Petone race " eight teams wero entered and good times were recorded by the placed birds. Mr J. L. Bolton, of Petone liberated the teams at 10-minute * intorvals. Each team had to arrive home on the day to gain a place . The birds were liberated in perfect weather. The winning team, owned by Mr T.
