It is understood that the British Government does not conteniplate further action if Japan fails to comply with the requests made in her Note on the wounding of the British Ambassador to China in a Japanese aeroplane attack. it takes the view that such an attitude would show that Japan does not respect, anv international deoencv. In tihe British Government 's Note to Japan (says a British Official Wireless message) reforenee was made to the Union Jack fiown above the roof of the car in which the Ambassador was travelling at the time. The size of the flag was given as 18 by 12 inches. Tt has now been recovered and measured by the British authorities in Shanghai and was in fact 30 by 18 inehea.
