(Received 31, 9 a.m.) SHANGHAI, Aug- 30The British Cousul-Geueral at Ti6ntsin has protested to Japan iagainst an assault pn British civiliaus and severai Chinese constables cmployed by Britain, who attempted to stop a Japanese transport cQlumn whieh was passing through the British Concession, The Japanese troops beat them up and also thqse rushing to their assistance. The Japanese warship Idzumo eheiled the Shanghai racecourse, hitting the Raee Club tower. The British and American missions in Shanghai are appealing to the British and American Governments to protest against the deiiherate bombing of hundreds of refugees at the South Stalion on Saturday, Sir Hughe KnatchbulbHugessen, the British Ambassador, who was injured in a maehine-gun attack by Japanese planes In&t weck, |s 90 improved that no further bulletins are being issued-
