SOCIAL WORKERS AT HOME LEAGUE MEETING
A very interesting meeting of the Home League was held last Wcdnesday in tho Young People 's Hall, Lyndon road. Despite the inclement weather thero was quite a good attendance of members and friends. After the opening hymn followed by praper the foll was called, members giving some very good texts with the word included. Afternoon toa was .then served. The visitors for the afternoon were Miss Kirk, social worker for women and children, and Sister Gladys, the latter leaving Hastings to take up a similar position at Auckland. Miss Kirk was called upon to speak of her experiences as a social worker among women and children. She gave a very wonderful and interesting talk on her work, giving some very sad incidents, also some, very aoausing ones met with on her tasks as an officer.of that organisation. Miss Kirk was heartily thanked by Major Marshall and all members present. Adjutant Lamberton then gave a brief talk on the work Sister Gladys was connected with, saying how 6orry all were to lose such a good church worker. Sister Gladys then thanked Adjutant Lamberton for her kind re* marks and relatod her first experience of coining in contact with the Salvation Army and of tho many good friends slie had liuked up with while she has been in Bfastings. Sister Gladys wished tho Home League every 6uccess iii whatever achievement it undertook, remarking that while she carried on her work iu another town she would always rememter the Hastings Home Lea.gue. The meeting closed with the Benediction. The speaker next wenk will be the Rev. Mr. Boggis.
