THOUGHTFUL SPRINGBOKS
Sad and Simple Courtesy The touch of Nature that niakes the wrhole world kin has beeit exhibitpd more than once during their sojourn in the Dominion by the South Africau footballers, who liave won- the affqctions of hundreds of people with whom they have come into personal contact, says the Auckland Star. No visiting overseas team of sports' mon has niade so fine an impression on the life of the community as these fcjpring.boks have created. A simple but very striking act of eonsideration by them last week has linked them strongly in bonds of affeetion with -the people of Te Awamutu. : In Wellington recently a number of the' players met a Te Awamutu young woman at social events, and when the young woman returned to her home immediately afterwards she was stricken with a malacly whieh ended fatally. On the day of the funeral the parents were surprised, and helped in bearing their sorrow, by recoipt of a beautiful ivreath ant telegram.of .sympathy sent from the South lsland by thc manager and membe'rs of the Springbok -team, who had been informed by mutual friends of tho sad event.
