WELLINGTON, Last Night. In a mediocro match, much below ths usual New Zealand standard of inferprovincial Rugby football, Wellington beat Otago on a hard, dry ground at Athlctic Park on Saturday by 12 points to six. About 8000 spectators attended. Otago scored within a minUte oi' the kick-ofi, when Taylor secured" a pfenalty goal. Only a few mifiutes later the Wellington half-back, O'HaJloran, set the score level, and it remained So until h&lf-time, Wellington altacking constantly, with the advantdge in botli the scrums and line-outs. Early in the second half O'Ballorau potted a pretty goal. The Wellington backs launched a vigorous offensive and made a series of well-concerted itlovombnts, and finally , Thurston scored a try, which Crisp converted. When Wellington were penalised for lifting, Taylor again • scored, but ihe 1 game onded with Wellington still com- 1 fortabJy leading.
