New. Company Begins Next Wednesday FARMER TO COUNTER The workings of the new company which is to handle farm produce in Hawke's Bay and which is to begin operations on Wednesday, were outlined by Mr D. B. Begley af ihe annual meeting of shareholders ot the Heretaunga Co-operative Dairy Co., Ltd., in Hastings on Saturday. The new marketing organisation is to be known as Hawke's Bay Co-operative' Farm Products Ltd. "The new scheme means that we can assume the business control ot produce locally from the farmer's gale to the counter. WeVill be met with obstacles, but we are not afraid oi any fights with private enterprise," said Mr Begley. The new company, he explained, had no connection with the Heretaunga Dairy Co., eXceptfinsofar as that company was a skareholder in the new eoncem. The whole of the capital had been subscribed By each of the buttexmanufacturing com'panies ,in the Hawke's Bay province. The headquarters were in Hastings. There was no question of a! monopoly, and there need be no fear of exploitation. The price would be controlled at all times by the departraent concerned. The company would bring about orderly marketing, and butter from outside would be stopped from coming into the district after this week .
