Ebbs offiered .to take the- youth to his farm for unenfplqyed youths, and Parkiiisonr* was ■ -handed over to the care of Mr Ebbs. - . According to a previous ' Sydney message, Parkinson was not alloWed to leave tlie Marama, because he did not know his real name and could not find lii's foster -parents. Parkinson said he had been to a dance iu Wellington, and decided to sleep on the Marama. He weut on board, and was " sbon' fast asleep, awakening next morning,"to find, the vessel at sea. Parkinson said that he had* foster , pa repts in Sydney. He claimed .Sydney as his ■ birthplace," and that he was adopted ' by people named Parkinson as - a ba!by. ,
