Lecture by Noted Ethnologist The next meeting of ' the Hastings Historical Society . is to' be lield in the Methodist liall, opposite tbe Municipal Theatre, 'Hastings, on Monday at 8 p.m. The speaker is Mr V..F. Fisher, who is a prominen'b ethnologist connected with the Auckland Memorial Museum. Mr Fisher will speak on "iMaoii Customs", and the lecture is. to be illustratod willi lantern slides. Allliough only a comparatively young man, Alr Fisher has rnado a decp study of the. Maori race, and posscsses a many-sided knowredge of the old Maori' and his history. Tlie meeting is open to all interested. Prior to the address, a public presentation will be made of prizes won in the recent historical competition copducted by ihe ■ociety.
