TWO THOUSAND GUINEA PURCHASE
Rival Hit for Sydney Negotiations for the purchase of Rival Hit, which were shelved at the expiry of a three-days option last week, were "xeopened and when he passed the necessary* vetorinary examination his sale was completed to Mr. F. H. Hughes, of Sydney. The price was 2000 guineas. Rival Hit is to be shipped to his new home next week. He has had only three races, two of which he won. Although only in hack company, his successes were impressive, and indicated a bright future foT the three-year-old son of Winning Hit and Rivalry. The previous progeny of Rivalry, namely, Umpire, Final Shot and Knock Out, all showed early promise, bnt did not carry on. However, Rival Hit favouts his sire and is likely to develop into a bett'er performer.
