EMPIRE DRAMA FESTIVAL
The proposal by the Earl of -Bessborough - that - an Empire Drama Eea-4 tival be -held iu London is "being warmly supported by the British; ama' teur theatre movement. It is suggested that companies from Australia, New Zealand, Canada and South Africa should meet a eelected British company, each to present a one-act play. Mr. Geoffrey Whitwor.th^ a directOr of the British Drama -League which co-ordinate.s 2500 societies, has pyomisod co-operation. He has teuggested that hftcr the London .competition, the Dominion companies should,- tour Bri* tain. He points out that New Zealand has a branch" of the Lehgue and Australia has- afi&liated. • . ; .
