Meeting of Hastings Executive ' • • ■'* Matters . relating to the l'orthcoming spring sliow were discussed at an executive meeting of tlie Hastings Horticuitural Society last night, Dr G. M. Scott presiding over a good attendance. Owing to previous engagements . of the Assembly hail it was decided to amend the iist of fixture dates, and the spring show will now take place on September 18. Mr C. B. Hixon was appoiuted judge of the senior classes, and the other judges will be appointed later. The schedule of classes was carefully perused and a number of alterations were made, several new classes being itroduced, and a number deleted. It was ' agreed tbat at the daffodil show a miniature garden class be included in the decorative sections. The exhibits are not to exceed 22 inches by 14 inches .in dimensions. Then for the Rose Show a dish garden class, exhibits to be no'; more than 14 . inches by 12 inches, is to be included in the decorative selection. To meet the needs of those enthusiasts who no longer qualify for the no'vice section but are reluctant to compete in the senior section, it was decided to institute an amateur junior section in the chrysanthemuin show schedule. Messrs C. B. Hixon, C. Clark, R. Gigg and L. Hicks were appointed to prepare a schedule for the extra show that is to held, mainly for dahlias and gladiolii.
