Hobbs this morning when the Hastings Gtolf Club's annual championship tournarnent was continued at Bridge Pa under good conditions. TMs performance was qnite the outstanding one of the morning 's play, which consisted of the first eliminatidg rounds of th© vailima handicaps and tbe cbampionsMp. Play generaHy was of a Mgb standard, and there were many keenly contested games, more particiularly in tbe iandicap events. Tbe big surprise of rfcbe morning was tbe defeat of H. S. Budd whq ieaded tbe field in tbe Ijualifying rounds, and .who yesterday xetumed tbe best card of tbe morning. He was beaten by Sutberland, of tbe Hastings Clnb, whQ won l-up, v Hobbs* iscore "of 68 is tbe best xefcorded at' tbe tournament to .date.
