Identification Problem turkey's threat of action
(Eeceived '27, 12.45 p.m.) / EUGBY, Aug. 26. Board of Trade notices contaiuing advice to enable British ships trading in Spanish waters to bo easily distinguished have been circulated to all shipowners. The advice has been issued in the hope that easy identification of British vessels will avoid further incidents, A plane of unknown nationality oombedi the British tanker Eomford near Barcelcua (says a Press Association message from Athens). No damage was done. Th Turkish Government has informed the Powers that any foreign subroarine in Turkish waters refusing to answer a cliallenge will be blown up. Britain has protested to General Franco, tlie Spanish insurgent leader# regarding the bombing of the Britisbowned vessel by two planes with death 's-head insignia on, August 23. *
