CHORAL WEDDING FOR TWO CHOIR MEMBERS

BROADHURST— DES FORGES Blossom pink and leaf-bud green prelominated in the colour scheme chosen by the bride for herself and her bridesoiaids at ihe wedding of Ivy Malvina, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. iles Forges, of Willowpark xoad, HastIugs^ and formcrly of Lincolnshire, England, and Clarence, only son of Mrs. S. Broadhurst, of Hastings, and the late Mr. Broadhurst, of Lancashire, ; England, which waa solemnised at St. Matthew's Church, Hastings, last evening. The Eev. Kenneth Liggett 0 91ciated. The service was fully choral, both bride and bridegroom having been members of St. Matthew's choir for manyyears. Mr. C. B. Spinney presidcd at the organ and during the ceremony the choir sang an anthem and a psalm, the latter having a descant sung by the boys' choir. Mrs. C. B. Spinney sang a solo. The church was beautifully decorated with pink prunus and almond blossom and pink caniellias. The bride, who was given away by her fafher, looked charming in her gown of blossom-pink matelasse cut on Empire lines with a long train. A medici pollar hnished the eorsage which was shirred in front and shirring also trimmed the back of the gown. The long fitting sleeves were pointed at the wrists. She wore a wliite appliqued tulle veil, lent by Mrs. A. Thompson, which was arranged with an orange blossom coronet to fall over her faco while in the church and later was thrown back. She carried an ivory prayer-book with tiny posies of orange blpssom on each streamer, The only br-idesmaid was Miss Nola Taylor wrhose gown of pale leaf-bud green neeillerun lace was fashioned with a basqued coatee effect and had tiny bows down. the eorsage in front and pulfed sleeves. She wore a halo hat of cFark green velvet with a bow at the back and follow-me-lad etreamers and green velvet shoes and carried a prayer-book with pale green streamers. Mr. Len Henderson waa the best man and Messrs. T. Smith and L. Taylor were usliers at the church. Tho wedding reception was held at the bride 's home, where tho guests were received by Mr. and Mrs. des Forges and Mrs. Broadhurst. Mrs. des Forges wore a gown. of coral pink cloque with a tunic of cafe-au-lait needlerun lace with draped lace sleeves. She wore a black eealskin cape and black hat with pink velvet French flowers on the crown. Mrs. Broadhurst wore a fawn tailored coat with stitched collar and xevers, a smart brown toque and skunk stole. The bride and bridegroom stood under a large white wedding bell while they rcceived tho congratulations of their fviends. Mr. C. B. Spinney was tho M.C. at Ihe very happy reception and proposed the toast of the bride and bridegroom while Mr. Rosewarne proposed that of the paronts. The bride cut the three-tiered wedding cake which had been made by Mrs. Broadhurst and iced by tho "bridegroom. When the bride and bridegroom loft

for their honeymoon, a motor tour of the North Island, the bride travelled in a tailored costume of brown pin-stripcd with white, lemon blouse, and brown spring hat with eye veil. Many beautiful presents were Teceived among which were a piano from the bride 's "parents and a dining-room suite from tho bridegroom 's mother. Among those present were relative3 and close friends from Napier, Gisborne, Auckland, Wairoa and Wellington including Mrs. E. Hudson, of Auckland, the bride's aunt, who wore a gown of navy-blue georgette with iusets of lace. a matching cape and navy hat, and also Mr. and Mrs. Havers and Miss Havers, of Gisborne.
