Banks Threaten Withdrawal From Province . "DIRECTORS" IN LONDON

(Eeceived 26, 12.45 p.m.) EDMONTON, Aug. 25. Mr W. Aberhart, Alberta's Social I Credit Premier, is proclaiming a sixmonths moratorium for all debts owed to financial corporations before July of 1936. It will be effeetive immediatelj. It suspends suits before th'e Courts and bars new actions. Mr W. N. Chant, a former Aberhart Minister of Agriculture, has left the Social Credit Party. He alleges that the autocracy of the Government is no longer representative but is dictated by a few United Kingdom individuals and -is not representative of the people, He- urges a united front to save the province from financial ruin. Mr C. H. Carlisle, President of the Dominion Bank, has recommended the banks to withdraw from the province of Alberta if the debt moratorium is enacted. Mr. Carlisle to-day warned the Premier, Mr W. A. Aberhart. that withdrawal would mean that tbe province would likely to be uuable to obtain a banking service witbin or without tbe Dominion.
